WHO AM I?
I am born in France in the only area without gastronomy but with an excellent cook as a grand mother. And a family who enjoy Sunday roast and wines.
I first studied Law and Economy at IEP (“science po Paris”), pursue with museum and curatorial studies and worked for 15 years in the contemporary art world hence me ending up with studying at the WSET and almost got the Diploma (can’t get through the "Wine tasting" exam as it goes way too fast for me - no problem to get the “Spirits” exam though. Already a sign…).
Right after I started Spiritsfully as a platform to share my stories and experiences drinking and learning about distilled spirits and provide readers with a structured education about spirits.
I desperately looked for it when I studied for the WSET as
- I quickly found the classes of the WSET quite un-structured
- I was upset to mostly find websites with (often male) blogger bragging about their tastings, with an horrible design (hello world, the 90’s are over!).
- I definitely did not find myself fitting into this contest : I’m interested in learning and teaching how are spirits made not about trying every damned year of a particular whisky
- I was disappointed by the superficiality and non transparency of brands’ websites, very often beautiful and easy to understand, but from which most of the reality of a category was absent.
…so I created it!
Besides writing and talking about alcohol I'm also developing an activity of trend researcher, trend forecaster, future scenario maker and all kind of other forward looking activities.
